Today, an official ceremony was held on the occasion of marking the anniversary of the graduation of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk at the then military high school in the museum in Bitola, where the memorial room of Kemal Ataturk is located. The ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Defence, Bekim Maksuti, representatives of the Ministry of Defence and General Staff, military attaches accredited in the Republic of Macedonia, a delegation of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Turkey and other senior guests on the occasion of marking 119 years since this event. In his speech, General Muhamet Racaj stressed that the Republic of Turkey is a country with which we first signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of defence and is one of the largest supporters of the Army of Macedonia. The joint participation of ARM officers in Kabul within the Turkish contingent is the best evidence of cooperation and relations between both armies.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to the Republic of Macedonia, H.E. Tülin Erkal Kara, and Brigadier General Bitlislioğlu, expressed appreciation for the reception and support in the organization of the ceremony on the occasion of marking 119 years since the graduation of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk at the Military High School in Bitola, as an event from history which brings together two friendly countries. He also touched on the influence of schooling and time spent at his early age in this high school for his further military and state role in the formation of the modern Republic of Turkey.

The Republic of Turkey, as a NATO member, gives unreserved support to our aspirations to become a fully-fledged member of this military association.
