On the occasion of the Day of the Honour Battalion, the Minister of Defence, Radmila Shekerinska, awarded the members of the unit for their efforts, their shown results and their professional conduct in the carrying out of tasks. The order for the awards was read during today’s flag changing ceremony in front of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia, where the Honour Battalion marked the Day of the Unit, 11 November. The official flag changing ceremony in front of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia was carried out in the presence of the Minister of Defence, Radmila Shekerinska, who greeted and congratulated the ARM Honour Guards.
This year, the Honour Battalion worked on the Day of the Unit, 11 November. In addition to the flag changing ceremonies in front of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia and in front of the residence of the President of the Republic of Macedonia, the members of the battalion organized several events as a promotion of the first Macedonian officer sabre, the promotion of the book – ARM Honour Guard by Ivan Atanasoski, a blood donation activity in the City General Hospital 8th September, Honour Guard Games were held in the Ilinden barracks for the second time, and a delegation from the Battalion will visit the University Children’s Hospital this afternoon where they will wish to the children quick recovery, they will donate gifts to them and pass on the greetings from all the honour guards.
The unit’s day coincides this year with the 75th anniversary of the forming of the popular 1st Macedonian Kosovo Assault Brigade, whose traditions are continued by the Honour Battalion.
