Meeting of Shekerinska with Grabar-Kitarović: Macedonia has the strength and support for full integration in the EU and NATO

During the official visit of the Republic of Croatia, Minister Radmila Shekerinska also met with the President of the Republic of Croatia, Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović. The meeting confirmed the excellent bilateral relations between the two countries and Croatia’s support for Macedonia’s integration into NATO and the European Union.

“You have the strength, you have many friends, you have sincere and unreserved support from Croatia in your Euro-Atlantic path”, Grabar-Kitarović said at the meeting.

Minister Shekerinska highlighted the priorities of the Government and the current political, social and defence reforms in the Republic of Macedonia.

“We do not require membership as a gift. We work diligently to earn our membership in NATO and the EU. We are fully focused on improving the conditions through resolving open issues, and not avoiding them”, Shekerinska stressed at the meeting.

Both interlocutors agreed on the need to intensify the cooperation in the region and its further Euro-Atlantic integration. President Grabar-Kitarović gave support to the reform-oriented Government of the Republic of Macedonia and its efforts for meeting the required criteria in the Euro-Atlantic integration processes.
