An American – British expert team will aid in the preparation of the Strategic Defence Review

The Minister of Defence, Radmila Shekerinska, held a meeting today in the Ministry of Defence with a US – UK expert team to aid in the preparation of the Strategic Defence Review, a key document for the development of the defence and Army in the coming years.

The US team is headed by Eric Leid, an expert in the field of development of defence institutions. Part of the expert team is also British expert Steven Glover, defence and security adviser in UK’s Stabilization Department.

Minister Shekerinska stressed that one of the key tasks for the MoD is the elaboration of the Strategic Defence Review. The completion of the preparation process is also a government commitment, the Minister said and called for sincere friendly advice in the elaboration of the reform document.

The members of the expert team said that they were available to help with their expertise in the preparation of the Defence Strategy and the Strategic Defence Review.

The American – British team will also meet today and tomorrow with the main coordination group for the preparation of the Strategic Defence Review, comprised of experts from the Ministry and the General Staff.
