Deputy Minister Maksuti paid tribute on the marking of eleven years since the helicopter crash at Blace Katlanovo

Today, the Deputy Minister of Defence, Bekim Maksuti, laid a wreath at the memorial at Blace Katlanovo, in memory and honour of the members of the Army of the Republic of Macedonia who died eleven years ago in a helicopter crash while returning from the ALTHEA mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Wreaths were also laid by the delegation from the ARM, led by the Director of the General Staff of the ARM, Major General Zoran Mileski, the Joint Operations Command, the Air Brigade, the 1st Mechanized Infantry Brigade, the Petrovec municipality and the families of the fallen ARM members .

Tributes were also paid in the Strasho Pindjur barracks in Petrovec and the Butmir Camp in Sarajevo.

The Mi-17 helicopter crashed on 12 January 2008 near Blace Katlanovo, returning from the mission where Lieutenant Colonel Toni Spasovski, Major Goran Ristovski, captains Brane Spasovski and Igor Gjoreski, sergeant majors Slavcho Vasilev and Toni Davitkovski, staff sergeants Janko Shiric, Aleksandar Taskovski, sergeants Miki Ivanovski and Aleksandar Vasic and Corporal Zlatko Veljanovski.
